"Our daughter graduated from Granville Academy, Northern Virginia Chapter, in May 2004. We are so very grateful to Granville Academy as a whole and to Michael Artson specifically, for all of the good seeds that have been sown into our daughter. Because of her relationship with Granville, she has had opportunities prior to graduating high school, that many people never have in their entire life.
We are also grateful to God for Granville because every scholarship that our daughter received for her first year of college was either directly from, or as a result of her association with, Granville. We are especially proud of her award as a Smiley Scholar by the Tavis Smiley Foundation. Through Granville, she was able to attend the Tavis Smiley Youth 2 Leaders Conference held in Washington, DC and subsequently was exposed to additional opportunities, such as the Smiley Scholar Award and Scholarship.
Michael -- thank you for putting your WHOLE self into the work of Granville.
May God richly bless you for your sacrifices and contributions to and for our
children."

"Teaching our youth about entrepreneurship and business skills is crucial
to creating economic empowerment for our people. The Granville Academy does
just that, and goes one step further by providing role models and bridging
the gap between today's businesspeople and tomorrow's entrepreneurs. The
Academy program shows great vision and is an incredibly valuable education
for our youngsters. I am always happy to support this institution -- I wish
I had been involved in something like this when I was growing up!"

"Granville Academy is such a positive experience for my son Michael. Even
though he is still undecided, the various speakers have prompted Michael to
research and narrow in on a career choice. I believe that each student
will benefit from this wonderful opportunity to see entrepenuership in
action. It is one thing to read about how a business plan should be done;
it's another thing to actually develop one at this early stage in life, or
see one in the works! I find it admirable that so many successful business
people are taking the time to share life experiences and mentor to our
youth. As I sit and listen to the various lectures and guest speakers, I
wonder how differently my life may have unfolded had I been a Granville
graduate!"

Michael,
"I would just like to thank you first for the time and effort you put
into making Granville Academy what it is to my son. The academy has
increased his understanding of business from many different
perspectives. He understands the importance of a firm handshake, how to
prepare and speak before an audience, and what sorts of things he would
need to consider in starting and running a business. Thanks again as we
look forward to continuing with the Academy."

I am so blessed to have been extended the opportunity to be involved with
Granville Academy. I learned the basics of succeeding in corporate America
along with how to become a successful entrepreneur. I learned all of these
valuable lessons not only through classroom instruction, but also through
interaction with other successful entrepreneurs and business professionals.
Aside from learning valuable life lessons, I also made life long friends.
Not only within my bi-weekly sessions, but also at the national conferences.
I have experienced many wonderful opportunities that I know I would have
missed out on if it were not for my involvement in Granville Academy.
Through Granville I got an opportunity to become involved in the Next
Generation Network, Executive Leadership Council, the Black Engineers of
the Year Awards Conference and the Tavis Smiley Foundation, moving on to
become a Tavis Smiley Scholar. I feel that I owe much of my success and
achievements to Granville.
